It was wonderful to attend the Perryville swearing-in ceremony for two new police officers, Brian Wassum and Matthew Hiland at Perryville’s Town Hall meeting. It was a meaningful moment, witnessing their vow to uphold safety, law, and service for the town.
Ceremonies like this reaffirm why community matters and why public trust is so important. I applaud Officers Wassum and Hiland and their families for stepping forward to serve. I also thank the town leaders, fellow residents, and law enforcement professionals who were present to welcome them into duty.
