I attended the Cecil County Farm Museum and Regional Agricultural Center presentation on the Cattle at Fair Hill. Local historian Mark Barczewski walked us through the story of William du Pont Jr.’s beef operation at what is now Fair Hill Natural Resource Management Area, where as many as 1,000 cattle once grazed.
Learning our local history helps explain the landscape we see today and the choices that shaped it. Stewardship builds on that knowledge by caring for the land in ways that respect its past and protect its future.
Thank you to the Farm Museum, the Regional Agricultural Center team, and Mark Barczewski for an engaging afternoon.
